Get’cha Godly Fix

• Guys have you ever been to a youth camp and feel totally energized?
• Ever attended a concert and at the end you can’t wait to tell other people about Him so that they may share your joy?           

OK, fast-forward to a few weeks or months later and your raging fire becomes a tiny flame. You wonder, where has that drive gone? Your fire for God becomes almost nonexistent. Well, it is quite likely that you have become complacent, the Bible has become just a big book on the side and the other happenings in your life seem more important.

Hey! What are you eating?

My sister-in-law loves to annoy me when I am eating. I can always depend on her to walk up to me, look directly in my plate and ask in her squeaky little voice “hey! what are you eating?”Now I am so used to it, that it no longer annoys me. However I wanna flip the script a bit and ask you the same question “What are you eating?”. No! I am not talking about the chicken you ate for dinner or the sandwich you had for lunch. Instead what are you feeding your spirit?

Food 4 Thought: Trials

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:2-4)

These verses really speak to me when I am going through a rough period . They are not  saying that in the midst of your struggles you should smile and celebrate. In truth even Jesus expressed grief before His crucifixion (Matt 26:36-44).

What Hilary Banks and I have in Common

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is one of my all-time favourite sitcoms. From Carlton’s dancing, Will’s antics to Jeffery’s sarcasm I can’t seem to get enough. However I never expected that God would use an episode of this secular sitcom to further cement something that He has been trying to get me to understand for quite some time. I know it sounds a bit crazy, but hear me out.

Clear the Stage!!!!

I don’t usually visit other churches, but this Sunday was different. I had the opportunity to worship at a quaint church in the heart of St.Andrew, Jamaica. Looking around at the attire of the congregants and hearing the names I realized that the church was African based.

Are you smarter than……..a donkey?

God used a story of a man and his donkey to teach me an important life lesson and I want to share it with you. The story can be found in Numbers 22, however I will summarize.

THE VERDICT

I was feeling a bit frustrated with myself recently. I began to think about the many times I pray “Lord, I surrender to YOUR way” and then turn around and do things my way. I was tired of asking God to forgive me for disobeying Him and for some reason I was starting to feel as if He was tired of me too.
